Day 1: Arrive in Palermo

Meet your driver outside baggage claim for a seamless transfer to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy tickets to a traditional puppet show, a unique cultural experience.

Day 2: Palermo and Monreale

Take a private driving tour of Palermo and Monreale. In Palermo, visit:

  • Palazzo dei Normanni
  • Capella Palentina
  • Church of San Giovani degli Eremiti
  • Cathedral of Palermo

Next, drive to Monreale, which sits on the slope of Monte Caputo. This picturesque town overlooks La Conca d’Oro, a fertile valley famed for its rich exports of citrus fruits, olives, and almonds. Monreale is celebrated for its remarkable concentration of Norman, Arab, and Byzantine art.

Day 3: Segesta

Segesta, an important town of the Elimi people in the 4th century BC, is now famous for its well-preserved Doric-style temple. Each summer, the theatre hosts performances of Greek classics. The archaeological site comprises various layers of ruins from different civilizations, including the Elymians, Hellenistic-Romans, Arabs, Normans, and medieval settlers. After lunch, consider a scenic hike in Zingaro Park.

Day 4: Trapani

Start the day with golf, followed by a visit to Trapani’s open-air fish market in Piazza Mercato di Pesce, located on the northern waterfront. Strolling through this vibrant market provides insight into local life, even if you’re just browsing. In the evening, explore the ancient city of Erice, perched 2,500 feet above Trapani, where you can enjoy stunning views accessible via funicular. Don’t miss the renowned pastry shop of Maria Gramattico, known for its exquisite marzipan.

Day 5: Selinunte and Agrigento

Travel to Selinunte, founded by Greeks in 650 BC, now an archaeological marvel. Much of the town remains in ruins due to the Punic Wars and natural disasters. Proceed to Agrigento for lunch in the charming old town, followed by a private tour of the city’s ancient Greek temples. You may also wish to visit the beautifully restored Gardens of Kolymbetra or the Museo Regionale Archeologico of Agrigento.

Day 6: Agrigento

Enjoy a private boat tour along the scenic coast, with plenty of opportunities to swim and soak in the Mediterranean sun. Lunch will be served on board, providing a relaxing culinary experience. In the evening, consider participating in an optional cooking class to learn about Sicilian cuisine.

Day 7: Piazza Amerina

Depart with your driver toward Piazza Amerina to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Villa Casale della Romana. Dating back to the 4th Century AD, this villa boasts some of the most stunning Roman mosaics worldwide. After your guided tour, head east to your hotel situated on Mt. Etna.

Day 8: Ortigia and Siracusa

Journey with your driver to Ortigia, yet another UNESCO World Heritage Site. This small island serves as the historic heart of Siracusa, colonized by the Greeks around 735 BC. Experience a private tour of the archaeological site, followed by a captivating performance at the Greek Theatre in Siracusa.

Day 9: Mt. Etna

Spend an invigorating day hiking on Mt. Etna. The well-marked trails are easily accessible from your hotel, making for an unforgettable outdoor adventure.

Day 10: Depart from Catania

Conclude your Sicilian journey with a transfer to the airport for your flight home.
