2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio Super Sports
It’s always a sad day when you hear about a favorite high-performance car or SUV being discontinued, but that’s the news today. The final run of 2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglios will conclude as limited-edition Super Sports, with fewer than 150 units marked for sale here in the U.S. These vehicles will be sent off in style, featuring carbon fiber, special colors, and Alfa’s impressive 2.9-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine backed by new drivetrain tuning.
Mechanical Limited Slip Differential
Let’s start with the engine, as the twin-turbo V-6 will produce the same 505 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque as previous Quadrifoglios. It’s backed by a mechanical limited-slip differential, which provides enhanced performance in both the Giulia Super Sport sedan and the Stelvio. This unique tuning optimizes torque transfer, significantly improving stability, agility, and cornering speeds. Consequently, the Giulia Quadrifoglio Super Sport reaches 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds, topping out at 191 mph. In comparison, the Stelvio hits 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds, with a lower top speed of 176 mph.
Carbon Fiber Treatment
Both Super Sports feature a range of functional carbon fiber components, including a lightweight carbon driveshaft, hood, roof of the Giulia, spoiler, and side skirts. This reduces the mass of each vehicle, enhancing overall dynamics. The Stelvio also offers an optional dual-pane sunroof in carbon fiber. Additionally, the Giulia Quadrifoglio Super Sport incorporates an active carbon fiber front splitter, further improving stability and airflow performance.
Unique Exterior Features
Extensive use of black and dark features distinguishes the Super Sports from regular Quadrifoglios. This includes five-hole wheels (19 inches on the Giulia and 21 inches on the Stelvio) finished in dark tint and black-painted Brembo brake calipers. Three exclusive paint schemes—Alfa’s stunning Rosso Etna red, Nero Vulcano black, and Bianco Alfa white—further enhance their aesthetics. Unfortunately, the Bianco Alfa is only available on the Giulia.
Racy Carbon Interior
The interiors of the Super Sports feature 3D red carbon fiber trim on the dashboard, center console, and door panels, all firsts for Alfa Romeo. Headrests showcase the “Super Sport” logo embroidered in red, along with the production number, further distinguishing these interiors from regular models. The steering wheels feature a combination of leather and Alcantara, along with black stitching and aluminum paddle shifters. Moreover, the four-mode Alfa DNA Pro selector is a standard inclusion, with the Stelvio offering the Q4 AWD system for unique SUV performance.
