2025 Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid: Performance Meets Luxury
Bentley’s new hybrid V-8 powertrain setup is making its way through the lineup, and now it’s the Flying Spur sedan’s turn. The new setup offers up to 145 more horsepower over the outgoing car, as well as a slight redesign and some new luxury options. That makes the 2025 Bentley Flying Spur the most powerful Bentley sedan ever built.
Powertrain and Performance Features
Bentley’s new “Ultra Performance Hybrid” powertrain pairs a 592-hp 4.0-liter V-8 gas engine with a 187-hp e-motor integrated into the car’s 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. This innovative setup offers several advantages:
- Higher torque from lower engine speeds
- Up to 11 percent more peak torque
- Up to 19 percent more power output throughout the rev range
In sportiest drive modes, combined output can reach up to 771 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque through all four wheels.
Hybrid Efficiency and Modes
There is no cylinder deactivation hardware; efficiencies are gained from the hybrid system, including four modes built around the electric drive capabilities. Notable features include:
- Pure EV mode with up to 47 miles of electric-only range at speeds up to 87 mph
- A combined system offering a cross-continental range of 515 miles in a single tank
- e-boost mode, regen braking mode, and full charge mode for battery recharging
Advanced Handling and Technology
The new Flying Spur also features:
- Electronically controlled limited-slip differential with active torque vectoring
- A slight rear-biased weight distribution
- Bentley Dynamic Ride control for enhanced suspension adjustment
- All-wheel steering for improved maneuverability
Bentley claims significant improvements in body control during Sport mode and enhanced ride comfort during Comfort mode.
