The 2024 Buick Envision: An Overview
The 2024 Buick Envision is a five-passenger SUV that often goes unnoticed. However, the brand is undergoing significant updates, which includes this compact SUV imported from China.
This two-row SUV has received a complete redesign, enhancing both its exterior and interior features. The new styling aligns with the Buick Envista and Buick Encore GX, both of which are affordable subcompact crossovers. The refreshed Envision sports an updated grille and fascia, now showcasing the new Buick logo prominently situated on the stylish hood. LED headlights and taillights contribute to a cohesive, winged look. The rear fascia has also been revamped, featuring new badging and a design that draws inspiration from the Wildcat EV concept. Additionally, a new color palette includes vibrant options like Calypso Blue Metallic and Smokey Amethyst Metallic.
Under the hood, the Envision retains its 228-hp, 258 lb-ft 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Notably, the front-wheel-drive version has been eliminated; all-wheel drive is now standard across all trim levels.
New Trim: Sport Touring
For the 2024 model year, the Envision features a revamped trim lineup that retains the Preferred base model and the luxurious Avenir but replaces the Essence middle-tier with the Sport Touring (ST) trim. This change aims to better cater to specific buyer preferences. The ST comes equipped with striking 20-inch wheels finished in carbon fiber metallic, while the Avenir features its own unique 20-inch pearl nickel wheels. The base Preferred is fitted with 18-inch wheels.
Across its trims, the Envision boasts a five-link front and rear suspension design, augmented by Continuous Damping Control technology, which is standard on the Avenir model.
To establish itself as a suitable vehicle for young families, the Envision includes the most extensive range of standard safety features available on any Buick to date. This feature set encompasses adaptive cruise control, intersection automatic emergency braking, and additional systems for pedestrian and bicycle detection, rear cross-traffic braking, surround vision, blind zone steering assist, and intelligent automatic high beams.
Inside the 2024 Buick Envision
Upon entering the 2024 Buick Envision, one of the first details to catch your eye is the new 30.0-inch display—remarkably the largest in its segment—positioned within the redesigned dashboard. Both the driver display and center touchscreen reside under a seamless single pane of glass, enabling customization to suit personal preferences. Furthermore, this model incorporates a head-up display, which is part of a standard technology package that includes a premium nine-speaker Bose sound system.
The center console has witnessed a comprehensive redesign, alongside upgraded seating and standard wireless charging. In the ST trim, the steering wheel boasts a new leather-wrapped flat-bottom design. New interior color options are also available, such as Garnet with Ebony and Cool Gray with Slate Blue. Buick continues its tradition of providing a serene cabin atmosphere, enhanced by QuietTuning technology that effectively minimizes outside noise.
The 2024 Envision is set to launch this summer, with a starting price of $37,295 for the Preferred, $39,795 for the ST, and $48,395 for the luxurious Avenir. Key competitors in the market include the Acura RDX, Lincoln Corsair, and Genesis GV70.
