2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Plug-In Hybrid Pricing Announced, Rubicon Crests $50K

Jeep Wrangler 4xe: A New Era of Hybrid Adventure

Early EV adopters often paid a hefty premium for early access to electric vehicles. For instance, Tesla didn’t introduce the budget-friendly Model 3 until long after the luxurious Model S. Similarly, the trend of introducing advanced hybrid technologies, like the new 48-volt mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid, often manifests in higher-end models. A perfect example is the BMW X5 xDrive45e, which stands as the priciest version in the X5 lineup. Likewise, the Jeep brand shines with its new Wrangler 4xe, strategically placed at the top of an already upscale range.

Pricing and Trim Options

The plug-in hybrid Wrangler 4xe is available in two stylish trims: Sahara and Rubicon, both offered as “Launch Editions.” This arrangement hints at the possibility of introducing the 4xe hybrid system to more affordable models in the future. The Sahara model starts at an attractive $49,490, but with a potential $7,500 federal tax credit, it becomes more accessible. Comparatively, the rugged Rubicon 4xe starts at $53,190, also eligible for that generous tax credit. Notably, both versions command a higher price than their gasoline counterparts, with the standard Sahara beginning at $40,755.

Performance Features

This pricing structure makes the Wrangler 4xe Rubicon the priciest option available, even more so than the High Altitude trim. Although optional engine configurations may elevate the cost of the Rubicon and High Altitude even further, the 4xe version still commands attention.

While the mathematical bragging rights of the Rubicon 4xe may be challenged by the forthcoming V-8 Wrangler 392, which is anticipated next year, it nonetheless offers exceptional value. The electrified 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine produces a robust 375 horsepower and an impressive 470 lb-ft of torque. Jeep claims that the Wrangler 4xe can complete the 0-60 mph sprint in just six seconds—a noteworthy accomplishment that marks it as the fastest factory Wrangler to date.
