2024 Performance Vehicle of the Year Finalists
For the third iteration of our Performance Vehicle of the Year competition, we took 21 vehicles to the desert oasis of California’s Chuckwalla Valley Raceway. Here, we evaluated these vehicles on both a traditional track and a special off-road course to identify the top contenders. Ultimately, we narrowed it down to seven finalists, showcasing a diverse range among electric and internal combustion vehicles.
Testing Procedures
After our time at the track, we assessed the seven finalists on California’s picturesque roads, including desert byways and alpine passes. This segment of the evaluation was focused on how these vehicles excelled across our six criteria: engineering excellence, value, performance of intended function, driver confidence and engagement, advancement in design, and efficiency. Here, we explored vehicle settings, tackled twisty roads, and reveled in the driving experiences similar to those of their prospective owners.
