2025 Toyota Land Cruiser: Timeless SUV Design and Features

2021 Toyota Land Cruiser and Heritage Edition Overview

Before today, there was uncertainty whether the legendary Toyota Land Cruiser would continue into 2021, at least in the United States. However, Toyota has announced positive news for fans of this iconic rock crawler. The Toyota Land Cruiser will persist for at least one more model year, and the Heritage Edition will also remain available.

Key Features of the 2021 Land Cruiser

The classic body-on-frame SUV maintains its robust design with minimal changes. The most notable update for 2021 is that the Heritage Edition now offers an optional third row of seats. Moreover, it introduces two new exterior colors: Classic Silver Metallic and Magnetic Gray Metallic, joining the existing Midnight Black Metallic and Blizzard Pearl. All Heritage Edition models come equipped with stylish BBS-sourced 18-inch wheels.

Performance and Handling

The Land Cruiser is powered by a formidable 5.7-liter V-8 engine, delivering an impressive 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, it features hydraulic sway bars, known as the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, hill-descent control, and multi-terrain select, along with a lockable Torsen center differential—ensuring it can tackle diverse terrains effortlessly.

Safety and Technology Features

Safety is paramount, as evidenced by the inclusion of lane-departure warning, automatic high-beam headlights, and blind-spot monitoring. While it’s unfortunate that the Land Cruiser does not support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, it compensates with a 14-speaker JBL sound system and a convenient wireless charging pad for your smartphone.
