2021 Lexus UX Black Line Special Edition – A Sportier Crossover Option
The Lexus UX isn’t the most athletic-looking small crossover in its class. However, with modifications, it can certainly look sportier. For those seeking a factory-made sportier aesthetic, the new 2021 Lexus UX250h Black Line Special Edition offers an appealing alternative.
This special edition enhances the vehicle’s allure with sleek black accents on the headlamps, grille surround, side mirrors, and roof rails. Moreover, the 18-inch black wheels complement the overall design. Residents can choose from three elegant paint options: Eminent White Pearl, Caviar, and a distinctive new shade called Grecian Water. The color-keyed fender trim seamlessly extends to the wheel wells, resulting in a more grounded appearance.
Entering the cabin, one is greeted with NuLuxe faux-leather seats available in black or gray, accented with striking blue details on the seatbacks, seatbelts, dashboard, and doors. Additionally, the color theme creates a cohesive aesthetic throughout the floor, cargo mats, and key gloves. Key features include:
- Wireless phone charging
- Heated steering wheel
- Foot-activated rear door
- Parking sensors
As a special bonus, buyers receive a custom Zero Halliburton two-piece luggage set with their purchase. Under the hood, all Black Line Special Editions are equipped with a hybrid powertrain. However, with just 181 horsepower, the UX 250h may feel relatively slow for some drivers.
Set to arrive in dealerships in spring 2021, only 1,000 units of the 2021 Lexus UX Black Line Special Edition will be produced. Pricing details will be announced closer to launch, and this model complements the RX Black Line that debuted the previous August.
In terms of the wider 2021 Lexus UX lineup, minor changes can be expected. Notably, a blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert is now standard across the lineup, enhancing safety features for all models. Additionally, the hybrid models boast a revised rear cargo area, granting slightly more space. Lexus has also improved the accelerator response on the gas-only UX200 variant.
