The 2021 Porsche Taycan: Exciting Updates and Features
Although the 2021 Porsche Taycan may not match Tesla’s range capabilities, it impresses with its lightning-fast acceleration and luxurious ride quality. The electric sports car has received numerous updates for its sophomore year, making it an intriguing option for electric vehicle enthusiasts.
New Colors
For 2021, the Taycan introduces seven new exterior color options: Mahogany Metallic, Cherry Metallic, Coffee Beige Metallic, Chalk, Neptune Blue, Ice Grey Metallic, and Frozenberry Metallic. The Frozenberry color is particularly notable for its pinkish hue when compared to similar shades found in overseas models. Inside the cabin, buyers can choose from five fresh color schemes: Black/Limestone Beige (standard), Blackberry, Blackberry/Slate Grey, Graphite Blue/Slate Grey, and Basalt Black/Meranti Brown.
Head-Up Display
The 2021 Porsche Taycan enhances its features list with a color head-up display system. This innovative technology projects crucial information directly onto the windshield, allowing drivers to keep their focus on the road while having essential data in view.
Smartlift Function
Equipped with adaptive air suspension, the Taycan now offers a Smartlift function. This feature utilizes GPS data to automatically raise the suspension in certain locations, such as known speed bumps and driveways, enhancing the vehicle’s versatility.
Enhanced Charging Options
To improve user experience, Taycan drivers can now opt to limit charging to around 200 kW during longer stops at public charging stations. This adjustment helps reduce power loss and extends the battery pack’s life, which is a crucial consideration for electric vehicle owners. Furthermore, Porsche introduces the “Plug & Charge” capability, simplifying the charging process. By simply connecting the charging cable, drivers enable automatic authentication, making the experience more convenient.
More Features
For the 2021 model year, the Carbon Sport Design package is now available across the entire Taycan lineup, adding a sporty aesthetic to the electric vehicle. Additionally, the Taycan 4S introduces a smaller 79-kWh battery pack, offering drivers more options to suit their needs. While the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has not yet released specific range estimations for this smaller battery pack, it’s anticipated that it will provide slightly lower range performance compared to the previous 93-kWh option.
