If you’re only in Mostar for one day, here are the ‘must-dos’:

You probably recognize Stari Most from the photos, but many might not know its name. ‘Star’ translates to ‘old’ in English, and ‘most’ means ‘bridge’. Therefore, Stari Most literally translates to Old Bridge. This iconic structure is arguably the most recognizable attraction in Mostar and dates back to the Ottoman era in the 1500s.
#2. The ‘Don’t Forget’ Stone
Visiting the ‘Don’t Forget’ stone is essential, as it serves as a poignant reminder of the civil war that affected the region. Its location near Stari Most makes it accessible. Even with limited time, it’s crucial to understand the history and culture of the place.
#3. The Museum of War and Genocide Victims
This museum provides further insight into the tragic history of the Balkans. It aims to reconnect the communities affected by the 1992-1995 war, fostering a peaceful future while honoring the past.
Getting from Mostar to Dubrovnik
There are two main options for traveling from Mostar to Dubrovnik: a bus or a car. The distance is only about 126 km, but due to customs between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, travel times can vary.

The bus ride takes approximately three and a half hours, costing between £10 and £20, depending on when you purchase your ticket. Although the bus takes longer than driving, it is considerably more eco-friendly, offering a chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.
#2. Mostar to Dubrovnik by Car
Driving to Dubrovnik takes about two hours, with fuel costs around £20. If you opt for this method, consider using services like Blablacar to reduce your carbon footprint while making new acquaintances on your journey. However, it’s crucial to plan for parking arrangements in Dubrovnik.
One Day in Dubrovnik Itinerary
If you are spending one day in Dubrovnik after your day trip from Mostar, consider these highlights:
#1. The Old Town and the City Walls
The Old Town, famous for its appearance in Game of Thrones, offers not only stunning architecture but also rich history as one of the best-preserved medieval cities worldwide. A walking tour of the Dubrovnik city walls reveals hidden gems and important facts.
#2. Franciscan Monastery
This monastery may not be on everyone’s radar, but it is a personal favorite. After your city walls tour, make sure to include the Franciscan Monastery in your visit for its stunning beauty.

The 30L Db Hugger stands out due to its attractive color inspired by the Norwegian landscapes. As a digital nomad, the easy-access pocket for laptops is essential for productivity while traveling.
The 30L also includes convenient pockets and opens from the front, making it easy to access essentials. After several trips, I found relief from back pain, attributing this to the design and support of the rucksack.
Db Rucksack 50L Deep Sea Blue Review
Tamás opted for the 50L Hugger, which is larger and retains the thoughtful design features of the 30L version. It even has additional pockets for organization, accommodating all the essentials he needs for our travels.
Anything We Didn’t Like?
One downside was the initial packaging in plastic, though it was understandable for protection during transit. Neither the 30L nor 50L backpacks conform to airline carry-on regulations, necessitating them as under-carriage luggage.
Additionally, the laptop pocket lacked padding, raising concerns about protection. Although my laptop fit snugly, it lost the “hug” feel the design promised when added. Ultimately, I resorted to wrapping it in soft clothing for better protection.
