Honda Recalls Over 300,000 Vehicles Due to Seat Belt Issues
Honda is recalling just over 300,000 cars due to issues with seat belts that may result in safety concerns.
The affected models include the 2023-2024 four-door Accords, with production dates running from last October to this October, as well as the 2023-2024 HR-V SUVs, produced from late April 2022 to this October.
According to Honda’s report, “Front seat belt pretensioners were assembled without a rivet securing the quick connector and wire plate.” This omission can prevent seat belt pretensioners from properly restraining occupants during a collision, thereby increasing the risk of injury.
If you own an Accord or HR-V, you can verify whether your vehicle is part of the recall by contacting Honda or consulting their recall information resources. You will need your vehicle identification number (VIN), typically found on your insurance statement or within the vehicle itself.
Should your vehicle be among those recalled, it is essential to visit an authorized Honda dealer for inspection and, if necessary, repairs. As of now, there have been no reported injuries or fatalities associated with this issue, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
