2025 Ford Transit Launches RV Prep Pack for Urban Nomads

2021 Ford Transit: Versatility for Delivery and Travel

The 2021 Ford Transit is changing with the times, as Ford introduces packages that allow for seamless conversions of the van into parcel delivery vehicles or recreational vehicles (RVs). This adaptability is essential in the current landscape, where demand for delivery services and travel experiences has surged.

Parcel Delivery Package

With the exponential growth of home delivery services, the Transit’s Parcel Delivery package serves as a practical addition. Key features include:

  • Hinged rear doors that open 253 degrees wide for easier access to cargo.
  • Full interior lighting for enhanced visibility during early morning or evening deliveries.
  • Removed armrests on driver and passenger sides to improve access.
  • An optional center console with a right-side shifter for better walkthrough and legroom.

Additionally, models with a gross vehicle weight rating of up to 9,500 pounds feature a clear aisle between the front seats, allowing for easier movement. An electronic parking brake optimizes space traditionally occupied by a manual parking brake.

RV Preparation Package

RVs have become travel oases during the pandemic, with shipments witnessing their highest levels in 40 years this past July, as noted by the RV Industry Association. To cater to the growing demand for socially distanced travel, Ford introduces a new RV Prep package:

  • Heavy-duty towing kit for carrying bikes and other gear.
  • Front fog lamps for better visibility on dark country roads.
  • Adaptive cruise control and swiveling driver and passenger seats for added comfort.

For a touch of luxury, the Livery package offers ebony leather seats, power sliding side doors, and full privacy glass, making any road trip stylish and comfortable.

Adventure Prep and Motorhome Packages

The Adventure Prep package targets campers with prevalent options like:

  • All-wheel drive and the twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine.
  • Heavy-duty front axle and limited-slip rear differential.
  • Privacy glass, dual USB ports, adaptive cruise control, and reverse sensors.

Moreover, the Motorhome Prep package provides an economy-rated version of the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6, designed to support large motorhome conversions. This ensures that all campers can enjoy a safe and reliable journey.
