Ford Bronco Pricing Options Explained
Earlier this year, we floated an intriguing possibility: What if there was a way to get a Ford Bronco without haggling, at a reasonable price, from participating dealers? Many Ford models are eligible for X-Plan pricing, an “employee pricing plan” available to nearly anyone who meets certain conditions. However, a Ford representative confirmed that no 2021 Ford Broncos will be eligible for the special pricing, as noted by external sources.
Understanding X-Plan Pricing for Ford Broncos
While disappointing to potential Bronco customers, it’s understandable if demand is indeed so high for all models. Ford has been transparent about the fact that X-Plan pricing isn’t available to vehicles that are, as the Ford representative describes, in limited supply. This only applies to the 2021 model year—if the supply and demand situation changes, Ford could make a different eligibility determination in the future.
Alternative Discount Plans for 2021 Ford Broncos
Moreover, several Ford discount plans are still applicable to the 2021 Ford Bronco 2- and 4-Door models.
- AZD Plan Pricing: Includes A-Plan (Ford employees), Z-Plan (Ford retirees), and D-Plan (Ford dealership employees). These plans will still apply to the 2021 Bronco.
Qualifying for X-Plan Pricing
If you’re interested in other Ford vehicles that might have X-Plan pricing available, you may wonder how you can qualify. Ford and Lincoln extend X-Plan pricing to several groups. Essentially, X-Plan is an employee-like pricing scheme for family members or friends “sponsored” by an eligible Ford employee. To utilize X-Plan, you typically have to be invited in. However, it also extends to members of certain organizations.
The Mustang Club of America, well-known for providing X-Plan pricing as a benefit, allows you to qualify by purchasing a membership—currently $25 for one year—and then waiting 60 days before you can utilize X-Plan pricing at a participating dealer. Consequently, this is probably the easiest way to qualify for X-Plan pricing if you don’t meet other participation requirements.
Shareholder X-Plan Options
There is another qualification route that might appeal to those who own some Ford stock. If you own 100 shares of Ford (currently around $7 per share), and you hold the shares for six months, you can participate in the Shareholder X-Plan by following the outlined process by Ford. While this may be less attractive to those looking to get a deal on a new Bronco compared to the Mustang Club process, it could be a solid option for current shareholders.
Final Thoughts on Ford Pricing Plans
It’s essential to note that all Ford discount pricing schemes are subject to change. Therefore, make sure to check the plan details and confirm that your preferred dealer will honor the pricing before making any assumptions.
