Lamborghini Essenza SCV12: An Exclusive Track Experience
Lamborghini is seeking the attention of the world’s affluent gentlemen and gentlewomen racers with the new Essenza SCV12 track car. Limited to 40 units, the Essenza SCV12 invites customers to join what Lamborghini deems an “exclusive club.”
Track-Only Exclusivity
Any owner of a rare car is arguably part of an exclusive club; however, the Essenza SCV12 offers perks not typically associated with automobile ownership. This is a true track car, and Lamborghini insists that Essenza SCV12 owners use it primarily for racing events.
Purchasing an Essenza SCV12 grants access to regular driving events at various FIA Grade 1 circuits. Although Lamborghini hasn’t disclosed the specific tracks, the inaugural event is set to take place in 2021.
Performance Powerhouse
Piloting the Essenza SCV12 promises to be an exhilarating experience, thanks to its naturally aspirated V-12 engine, which delivers over 830 horsepower. This immense power is transferred to the rear wheels through a six-speed gearbox that also functions as a structural element of the hypercar’s chassis.
Equipped with sticky Pirelli slicks mounted on 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, the Essenza SCV12 utilizes a pushrod rear suspension system alongside Brembo Motorsport-developed brake rotors and calipers. This advanced setup enables the car to manage high G-forces effortlessly, whether navigating tight corners or executing sudden stops.
Race Car Interiors
True to its racing heritage, the Essenza SCV12 features a cabin designed for performance. The driver sits on an OMP-sourced seat made from lightweight carbon fiber, with a Formula 1-inspired steering wheel that houses most of the car’s controls and displays. The driver-centric layout offers intuitive access to all driving functionalities.
Unique Ownership Experience
While Lamborghini has not revealed the price tag for owning and racing an Essenza SCV12, one fact remains clear: owners cannot take their track-focused vehicles home. Instead, Lamborghini will store all Essenza SCV12s in a dedicated hangar in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy.
This innovative approach may seem unconventional; however, it mirrors Ferrari’s practices with certain track-exclusive XX models. The facility is equipped with personalized garage spaces for each vehicle and features 24-hour webcams, allowing owners to monitor their cars via a dedicated app.
Ultimately, Lamborghini provides Essenza SCV12 owners the opportunity to keep a watchful eye on their prized possessions, akin to a virtual nanny cam. After all, which affluent automotive enthusiast wouldn’t want to regularly check in on their unique Lamborghini Essenza SCV12?
