2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe and Roadster Updates
Following a recent refresh in 2020, the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe and Roadster are set to receive exciting updates for 2021. Most notably, the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine now delivers an additional 54 hp, enhancing the driving experience significantly for the new model year. Moreover, a new Stealth Edition model joins the lineup.
Enhanced Performance
The two-door sports car now boasts an impressive 523 hp, allowing it to reach 60 mph in as little as 3.7 seconds. Consequently, this model trims 0.2 seconds off its previous performance metrics. For comparison, a 2016 GT S coupe was recorded at 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, indicating that the 2021 model will likely surpass these expectations.
In addition to the power gain, the GT enhances its standard features with several new performance items, including:
- Adaptive dampers, referred to as AMG Ride Control
- Electronic limited-slip differential
- Larger front brakes from the 2020 GT C with striking red-painted calipers
- A new “Race” drive setting
- Lightweight lithium-ion starter battery
Introducing the Stealth Edition
The aptly named Stealth Edition adds a unique visual flair to the lineup. Featuring dark accents on the exterior from the AMG Exterior Night package, this model boasts:
- Dark chrome grille
- Darkened headlamps
- Black brake calipers
- Carbon-fiber roof with dark tinting for coupes
- Black soft top for convertible models
- Paint options in both black and gray
Luxurious Interior Design
Inside the vehicle, plush leather seats featuring diamond quilting contribute to the luxurious experience, alongside a choice between carbon fiber or black piano trim. Additionally, a special badge in the center console signifies the car’s exclusive Stealth Edition status.
Price and Availability
While official pricing for the 2021 GT coupe and convertible models has yet to be disclosed, it is anticipated that both vehicles will start at over $115,000. The sports cars are expected to be available early in 2021, giving enthusiasts something to look forward to.
Power for the Enthusiast
For those seeking an exceptionally powerful option, the 2021 GT Black Series may be of interest. With a reconfigured V-8 engine, this model delivers an astonishing 720 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, providing an exhilarating driving experience for performance aficionados.
