Exploring the Filming Locations of My Policeman

Harry Styles has already established himself as one of the greatest entertainers of 2022, and his success shows no signs of slowing down. With his Harry’s House album dominating charts and airwaves, he is also set to star in two of the year’s most eagerly anticipated films. Following his collaboration with Olivia Wilde, Don’t Worry Darling, comes the enchanting My Policeman, scheduled for release in October.

Brighton: The Heart of My Policeman

Many scenes of My Policeman were filmed in and around Brighton, the city’s scenic beauty mirroring the rich backdrop of the source material. Key Brighton landmarks were transformed to reflect the 1950s, including the iconic Palace Pier, where Styles and Corrin were seen enjoying vintage arcade games, and the majestic Royal Pavilion, a stunning residence built by the future George IV in the late 18th century.

The production team utilized several notable districts characterized by period architecture. Locations like Regency Square and Brunswick Square showcased the area’s historical charm, reminding viewers of Brighton’s past grandeur as a fashionable resort town. Additionally, scenes were shot at the beloved Belcher’s Café on Montpelier Road, a location that fits perfectly within the nostalgic ambiance of the film.

Filming also occurred in the picturesque surroundings of East Sussex. For instance, Saltdean was visually transformed to resemble nearby Peacehaven in the 1990s, while the enchanting Vine pub served as a romantic date spot for Tom and Marion.

The scenes that garnered the most attention were shot on Brighton’s beach, where Styles was filmed not only in uniform but also swimming in the bay, much to the delight of onlookers.

London: A Capital Experience

Although Brighton played a central role in the film’s setting, certain scenes were also captured in London. The production ventured into notable areas, such as the London School of Economics in Lincoln’s Inn Fields, where scenes featuring an opera visit were shot. A standout location in Hitchin, to the north of the city, featured a 50-meter pool that opened in 1938, utilized for a memorable sequence between Tom and Marion that captured attention in promotional materials.

Venice: A Romantic Escape

Later in the film, Tom and Patrick’s love story unfolds in the romantic allure of Venice. The iconic streets, including Calle Larga Widmann, provided a picturesque setting where Styles and Dawson were filmed strolling while enjoying the gondolas and speedboats that Venice is famous for. More updates on these scenes will be provided as additional details emerge.

My Policeman is anticipated to release in cinemas on October 21 and will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime starting November 4.
