Savor the Chef’s World Series: Exclusive Tasting Event with Madeira Tourism

Experience the Flavors of Madeira with iBestTravel

For this exclusive event, we opened the doors to the sleek Vogue House boardroom in London, which is lined with black-and-white photographs from Madeira to showcase the regional cooking of this beautiful Portuguese island. The Socalco Nature Hotel in Calheta, located on Madeira’s south coast, serves as a delightful backdrop where guests can explore dishes crafted from seasonal produce grown in the kitchen garden and local farms. Furthermore, various gastronomic activities, including cooking classes and wine tastings, enhance the culinary journey.

Upon arrival, guests were welcomed with a punchy glass of Poncha, Madeira’s traditional drink. They were also captivated by a live demonstration showcasing how this potent beverage is crafted, using a mix of aguardiente de cana, honey, sugar, and citrus juice.

Each course was thoughtfully paired with exquisite wines, making Blandy’s famous Madeira the crowd favorite. Guests were eager to immerse themselves in Madeira’s diverse culinary landscape.
