The Backstory
Torel Avantgarde is the latest addition to the Torel family, marking their third property in Porto and their fourth overall in Portugal. Each of their hotels has a unique vibe; for example, the adjacent Torel Palace Porto resides in a 19th-century palace, paying homage to Portuguese writers and poets. Originally opened in 2016, the hotel has recently undergone extensive renovations, now featuring 49 luxurious rooms, a wellness spa, a cocktail bar, and a restaurant. A second swimming pool is currently under construction, promising even more luxury for guests.

Each room at Torel Avantgarde is a unique experience. Hotels in Portugal often exceed expectations, and this one is no exception. Every room is creatively named and designed around specific themes in arts, literature, science, music, architecture, or design. For instance, our experience in the Charlie Chaplin room featured artwork dedicated to the iconic actor, complete with a lampshade crafted from bowler hats. The real highlights were the impressive oversized bath and balcony.
