Jgrrey’s Top Global Travel Destinations Revealed

E Pellicci Café

LONDON, ENGLAND

‘I’m a huge fan of the film Legend about the Kray twins, starring Tom Hardy, and some scenes were shot in this caff where they used to come for breakfast. They do a great full English and Italian classics. The chicken escalope is delicious. It’s one of those places where you want to try everything on the menu. The decor has barely changed since it opened a century ago. I filmed my first video, ‘Ready to Die’, here. My manager knows the family who run it and once you meet them, they never forget you.’

Old Town Square

Havana, Cuba

‘On a family holiday to Cuba, I spent a lot of time here. So many cities are pouring money into cutting-edge architecture and making the look as futuristic as possible, but in Havana the lack of modernisation works in its favour: you really feel the history. There was a massive sense of family and community and loads of friendly stray dogs. I literally live for Cuban music and lots of the restaurants around the square sell themselves on having a band. I adore the Buena Vista Social Club, but who doesn’t?’

Kew Gardens

London, England

‘I am a plant freak. I enjoy learning about new varieties, caring for them, propagating them, the whole shebang. I remember the first time I went to Kew Gardens I could hardly believe such a place existed. I actually took a few cuttings when nobody was looking and managed to grow three new plants from them, which are still going strong. I’ve got an account on Instagram, @JGrrowing, where I document my own plants. Pothos – devil’s ivy – is one of my favourites at the moment.’
