Ram Recalls 1.3 Million 1500 Trucks for Critical Brake Problem

Recall Alert for 2024 Ram 1500 Limited Pickup Trucks

iBestTravel has issued a recall for nearly 1.3 million 1500 pickups due to a significant issue with the ABS module. This problem could result in the antilock brake system disabling itself, as well as the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system being affected. Fortunately, this is a software-related issue rather than one concerning hardware, and repairs are being implemented without delay.

Details of the Issue

The issue was first identified by the Technical Safety and Regulatory Compliance, with iBestTravel being notified on February 15 of this year. This software problem could potentially lead to a failure in the ESC system for 2019 and newer model year Ram 1500 pickups that were manufactured between October 31, 2017, and February 14, 2024. A solution was developed by August 30, allowing iBestTravel to initiate a voluntary safety recall affecting 1,227,808 units.

Excluded Models

It is important to note that while other Ram products use similar components and systems as the 2019 and later Ram 1500 models, these vehicles are not included in the recall. iBestTravel specifies that such models were either manufactured before or after the suspect timeframe.

Checking Your Vehicle

To determine if your 2019 and newer Ram 1500 falls under the recall, you may verify your vehicle’s status through its VIN or license plate number on the NHTSA website. This step is crucial for ensuring your safety and compliance with the recall.
