2025 Audi RS6 Avant GT Review: The Ultimate Super Wagon

The 2025 Audi RS6 Avant GT: An Overview

Since its arrival in the United States, the Audi RS6 Avant has captivated automotive enthusiasts with its compelling blend of power, handling, and versatility. This remarkable wagon stands out in today’s crossover-filled market. Before the current generation of the RS6 departs, Audi is introducing a limited-edition GT model. With only 660 units available globally, the 2025 Audi RS6 Avant GT draws inspiration from the RS6 GTO concept of 2020 and incorporates elements from the iconic Audi 90 Quattro IMSA GTO race car from the late ’80s.

Unmistakable Design

Packed with distinctive features, the RS6 Avant GT is the first Audi to showcase carbon-fiber details on its hood, seamlessly extending from the hood’s vents to the windshield. A high-gloss black Singleframe grille and air intakes enhance the visual appeal of this exceptional RS6 Avant. The six-spoke, 22-inch wheels contribute to its athletic stature, while strategically placed air intakes behind the wheel arches improve brake cooling. The pronounced rear wing, nearly identical in size to that of the GTO concept, combined with the rear diffuser and large dual exhausts, creates an aggressive rear profile.

  • Five exterior colors available
  • U.S. buyers will receive the exclusive Arkona White exterior with the Heritage package and white wheels

Inside, the cabin exudes a sporty flair, complementing the exterior’s striking looks. Noteworthy features include race-car-inspired bucket seats; however, these will not be available in the U.S. market. Instead, standard RS6 Avant performance seats will be equipped with eye-catching red and copper stitching. The interior design boasts significant lateral support, with carbon-fiber trim, honeycomb stitching, and RS6 GT logos enhancing its exclusivity. The meticulous attention to detail extends to illuminated door sills and puddle lighting.

Due to the limited production of just 660 units, each RS6 Avant GT features a unique serial number on the center console, and the interior is designed with Dinamica black microfiber instead of traditional leather.

The Untamed Beast

While the RS6 Avant’s powertrain remains consistent, it delivers exhilarating performance. The RS6 Avant Performance and RS6 GT are powered by the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine, producing an impressive 621 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed transmission channels this power to all four wheels through the Quattro all-wheel-drive system, with a locking center differential distributing power in a 40/60 front/rear split. The acceleration from 0-60 mph is projected at approximately 3.3 seconds. Furthermore, the Quattro system can direct up to 70 percent of the power to the front axle and 85 percent to the rear for enhanced traction and stability.

This iteration of the RS6 Avant introduces adjustable coil-over suspension, lowering the ride height by 10 millimeters compared to previous models. Stiffer stabilizers enhance handling and reduce body roll. Customers can opt for the RS sport suspension plus with Dynamic Ride Control or choose the adaptive air suspension for tailored driving experiences.

All RS6 GTs are equipped with high-performance Continental Sport Contact 7 tires, designed to improve performance under various conditions. The ceramic brakes from the RS6 Avant Performance are also retained, ensuring remarkable stopping power.

When and How Much

The 2025 Audi RS6 Avant GT will be limited to 660 units globally, with a mere 85 units allocated for the U.S. market. The rollout is expected to begin later this year, with European markets receiving initial shipments. Although pricing for North America has yet to be announced, German customers can anticipate a price tag of 219,355 euros, which is approximately $236,000. While this price point may seem steep for a wagon, its limited availability and retro design elements are likely to attract discerning buyers.
