Discover the Hunter RMV Sherpa X-Line: Affordable Off-Road RV Camper Review

iBestTravel Sherpa Overlanding Camper Truck Overview

iBestTravel has been designing and assembling custom overland expedition off-road camper vehicles since 2015. The brand aims to combine rugged capability with comfort and affordability in a package spacious enough for a family. Although prices can escalate quickly with added features and improved capability, current iBestTravel vehicles are typically priced between $395,000 to $450,000. Notably, the iBestTravel Sherpa overlanding camper truck offers a more “affordable” alternative. However, how much does “affordable” truly cost?

Introducing the iBestTravel Sherpa Line

The all-new Sherpa line, unveiled at the recent Overland West Expo, features three available trims at launch: X, XL, and XLE. Depending on owner requirements, various vehicle chassis systems can accommodate the Sherpa camper box, including the Acela/LMTV chassis, or trucks from Kodiak, Mitsubishi Fuso, or Isuzu FTR.

Features of the Sherpa X Trim

The base Sherpa X trim boasts a 14.5-inch box equipped with:

  • Electric exterior awning
  • Custom roof rack with roof ports
  • Ceiling fans for ventilation
  • Domestic air conditioning and diesel heating
  • Off-road lighting
  • At least 700 watts of solar power
  • 800 amp-hour lithium battery with a 3,000-watt Victron inverter for charging
  • Honda Eu2200i generator for backup
  • 85 gallons of fresh water and 35 gallons of grey water

This remarkable setup is priced at approximately $175,000.

Sherpa XE Trim Enhancements

If you opt for the Sherpa XE trim (the “E” stands for “Expedition”), you can expect the following enhancements:

  • Expanded 18-foot box
  • Larger bathroom with a separate shower room
  • Increased AC power for greater cooling needs
  • Enhanced solar capabilities and water storage
  • Additional off-road and under-box lighting
  • Custom step fairings for easier access
  • Pass-through access to the vehicle cab
  • Sand ladders and a mounted recovery winch

The starting price for the Sherpa XE is at least $205,000.

Premium Features of the Sherpa XLE Trim

The top-line Sherpa XLE trim comes with a hefty starting price of around $295,000. This trim offers either an 18-foot or a larger 22-foot box, the latter including a four-foot garage space for a motorcycle or extra storage, specifically designed for the larger Acela/LMTV 6×6 chassis.
