Design Inspiration
As the name suggests, the design for the package is inspired by the 1965 (okay, ’64 1/2) Ford Mustang as it was shown at the 1964 World’s Fair in Flushing, New York. “We took inspiration from the original Mustang and applied some of the most special design elements to the latest in this limited production run,” states Matt Simpson, Ford Enthusiast Vehicles general manager. “Mustang’s design DNA has never been stronger or more enduring than this multi-generational tribute.”
Exclusive Features
- Obligatory 60th Anniversary badges on the fenders, trunk lid, and instrument panel.
- A set of exclusive 20-inch wheels finished in Dark Gravity Grey with Vermillion Red stamped aluminum center caps designed to replicate those from the original Mustang.
- Side graphic decals inspired by the original Mustang’s rocker panel stripes, available in Iconic Silver or Vermillion Red, reading “60 years.”
- Exclusive mesh grille with silver-accented “nostrils,” a throwback to the first Mustang.
- Functional air intakes in the front, flanked by smoked housing “Nite Pony” headlights.
Color Options
The package is available in three striking colors: Wimbledon White, Race Red, or Vapor Blue. Notably, Race Red and Vapor Blue models feature Iconic Silver-colored side mirror caps, while Wimbledon White cars come with color-matched caps. Furthermore, buyers can select from three interior color options including Space Grey, Carmine Red, or Black Onyx.
Engine and Availability
The Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary package is exclusively available for GT Premium trims with the 5.0-liter V-8 engine, thanks to the functional air intakes. This package can be selected for both coupe and convertible models, and it offers choices between automatic and manual transmissions.
Production Numbers
In another nod to the Mustang’s origin, only 1,965 examples of the 60th Anniversary package will be produced. Ford has announced that orders for this special package will open up this summer, with deliveries expected in the fourth quarter of 2024. Pricing information is yet to be revealed, but it is anticipated to emerge closer to the on-sale date.
