2025 Genesis GV70 Midsize SUV Review: Ultimate Screen Experience

2025 Genesis GV70 Review

After four years on the road, Genesis has decided it’s time for a redesign of its GV70 midsize luxury SUV for 2025. When it debuted, it was impressive enough to take home the 2022 SUV of the Year Award and put Europe on notice. Let’s look at what’s changed inside and out of this Korean-built luxury vehicle.

Interior Enhancements

We’re going to start on the inside, as the biggest change on the 2025 GV70 is literal in this case. At 27-inches, the infotainment and digital dashboard have been combined into one fully integrated OLED unit&rather than the more common arrangement where two smaller screens are nestled next to each other in an attempt to look like one massive letterbox screen.

The interior looks elegant with its circular trim elements integrating cleanly into the door cards. Given the rounded design elements, one might wonder if the massive boxy screen looks out of place. However, the interior of the GV70 looks exceptional, even in the GV70 Sport trim, which features striking orange accents, stitching, and ambient lighting.

Sporty vs. Sophisticated Designs

On the less-sporty model, the steering wheel and interior are set in a two-tone brown and white design, complemented by contrast stitching on the wheel’s inner rim and leather touches throughout the cabin. In contrast, the GV70 Sport continues this two-tone theme but utilizes black and dark blue hues across its leather surfaces, featuring a D-shape steering wheel for a sporty appearance.

Exterior Design Changes

Moving to the exterior, the 2025 Genesis GV70 and GV70 Sport showcase their athletic appearances. Both models feature a new “dual weave” grille design, with the GV70 Sport having a two-tone finish in dark chrome and black. The dual-line headlights flank the dual-weave grille, utilizing MLA technology to make the GV70 stand out on the road.

The standard GV70 front bumper boasts a new skid plate trim that highlights the expanded lower grille opening, which corresponds to the larger air ducts on either side. The Sport variant amplifies these features with even larger grilles and air ducts that promise improved performance.

Wheel Upgrades

New wheels also highlight the upgrades in the 2025 GV70. The standard model will come with 19-inch split five-spoke wheels in Hyper Silver, designed to match the silver and chrome body accents. Meanwhile, the GV70 Sport will utilize 21-inch wheels in a unique five-spoke design, each featuring two engraved stripes that resonate with Genesis’ new design language.

Rear Design Elements

The rear design continues the two-line aesthetic with combination stop-tail-turn lights that replace the previously situated bumper indicators, while still accommodating rear reflectors. The standard GV70 features a rear spoiler alongside a new built-in camera as part of the line-shaped high-mount stop lamp. The rear bumper of the GV70 Sport accentuates more dark chrome around its diffuser and muffler tips, exclusive to the Sport model.
