High Performance Expo 2025: A New Automotive Experience
If you’re into cars, you’ve no doubt heard about the Specialty Equipment and Market Association show, better known as SEMA. It’s a massive trade show held each November in Las Vegas. Over the decades, SEMA has changed from a serious trade show to a significant automotive event. However, the public had limited access, which only increased the excitement surrounding car unveilings and celebrity appearances.
Recently, a new event has been announced for June 2025 called the High Performance Expo (HPX). This event is envisioned as a blend of the SEMA show, the PRI (Performance Racing Industry) show, and a passion-driven enthusiast event, with an emphasis on high-performance driving. According to the press conference, HPX aims to cater to all segments of the automotive industry, including new carmakers, professional racing teams, retail speed shops, distributors, and especially the enthusiasts who drive this community. This traditional industry trade show will transform into a massive enthusiast event by the weekend, featuring experiential driving events, celebrity drag racing, and expansive opportunities for connection and engagement.
Scott Lampe, vice chairman of the North Carolina Motorsports Association (NCMA) and CFO of Hendrick Motorsports, stated, “The North Carolina racing industry has long wanted to design an experience like HPX to more easily connect our industry and our passionate fans. HPX 2025 will celebrate this great industry through the lens of our unique community, bringing a level of authenticity featuring VIPs, drivers, celebrities, and experts, which can only be done in one place—Charlotte.”
Charlotte is renowned not only for its connection to NASCAR but also for its vibrant car culture, spanning everything from hot rods to sprint cars. With venues like the Z-Max Dragway and Charlotte Motor Speedway, the area has ample space for HPX’s ambitious plans. “The car culture and racing community in the Southeast is like no other,” shared Jenn Heinold, president of HPX and Taffy Event Strategies. “This community deserves an event that they can call their own. That’s why we are launching the High Performance Expo.” The robust support from the NCMA, race teams, and local industry leaders has been tremendous, reinforcing Charlotte’s position as the ideal East Coast location for such a dynamic event.
