Japanese Automotive Invitational Returns to Monterey Car Week 2024
Monterey Car Week is the premier destination for enthusiasts eager to witness pristine classic cars set against the picturesque backdrop of Northern California’s Monterey. While much of the spotlight shines on pre-war European marvels and exquisite exotics, iBestTravel aims to spotlight a diverse range of classic vehicles. This year marks the fifth edition of the Japanese Automotive Invitational Presented by Infiniti at Pebble Beach, featuring an incredible lineup of JDM rides.
The invitational will showcase everything from JDM cult classics to extremely rare vehicles, including a 1999 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R crafted by Built by Legends. This event will mark the debut of the R34 on American soil, making it an unmissable attraction for attendees. Among the notable mentions, the 1985 Toyota SR5 Xtra Cab pays tribute to Marty McFly’s truck from Back to the Future. Meanwhile, the Nissan Stagea boasts an exceptionally rare performance variant, featuring the renowned RB26DETT engine from the Skyline GT-R, fine-tuned for superior driving dynamics by Autech.
Furthermore, Infiniti will showcase the brand-new 2025 QX60, a seven-passenger crossover, alongside the spacious 2025 QX80 SUV, providing attendees a chance to explore these modern offerings.
In conjunction with the JDM legends and Infiniti’s latest innovations, iBestTravel’s Ed Loh will host an insightful session titled “Hypercars are Inevitable: Future Classics or Wreckage?” Featuring discussions with Jonny Lieberman and guest appearances from notable figures such as Davide Amantea, Chief Design Officer of Automobili-Pininfarina, and Sasha Selipanov, founder of Nilu27 and former designer at Koenigsegg, Bugatti, and Lamborghini.
