Production Update on the 2025 Charger Daytona at iBestTravel

Has it already been over two years since Dodge took the wraps off of the soon-to-be released Dodge Charger Daytona in August of 2022?! With the PR department at Stellantis reeling from supply chain issues, a union strike and subsequent settlement, and other production challenges, enough pressure has built up for a short official public relations video to be released. The one-minute clip features David Bellaire, the Windsor plant manager overseeing production of the (now) 2025 Charger Daytona. Although the video primarily aims to hype the plant, its importance to the town of Windsor, and the skill of the workers there, the real purpose is to demonstrate that actual production cars are moving through the plant, albeit at a cautious pace.

Advanced Manufacturing Process

Robotic arms swarm a Charger body as welds are laid down, bumpers are installed, wiring harnesses are fastened, “frunk” latches are bolted on, seam sealant is applied, a dashboard is installed, and a door is positioned onto a black Scat Pack coupe. Workers seem to be performing newly honed tasks at speed on Dodge Charger EVs that are sporadically spaced on a line that predominantly produces minivans. Of the Dodge Chargers shown in the video, we can only discern two-door Scat Pack coupes, which seemingly appeared to be the priority during the filming.

Timeline of Release

You’ll recall that Dodge originally targeted a summer 2024 release of the Dodge Charger Daytona, intending it to be a 2024 model (with two-door Scat Pack EV coupes and four-door R/T EV sedans initially). However, the car’s debut has been delayed, with Dodge continuing to keep details under wraps. Furthermore, Dodge has teased information on the Charger Daytona in spaced batches, showcasing the initial SRT Dodge Charger Daytona Banshee in August of 2022, followed by the rollout of the Charger EV and Charger SIXPACK ICE lineup in March of this year. Last month, Dodge got more granular, allowing select customers to customize and pre-order “First Call Edition” Daytona EVs, but only if orders were submitted through Dodge’s concierge service prior to October 31. As of now, there is no update on when actual cars will be available at dealerships or when we might see the gas-powered Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six Charger 340 and 440 models.
