Exploring the Artistic Vision of JeeYoung Lee

Panic Room (2010)

“I was confused, scared and at a loss, and I used optical illusion to express my emotional state,” says Lee. By altering the dimensions of conventional sewing tools, she imbues everyday items with a disquieting and aggressive air. Moreover, she aims to evoke the fear we encounter when facing changes to our familiar environments and the unforeseen difficulties that may lurk nearby,” Lee explains. Consequently, Lee meticulously calculates the proportions and draws the entire set by hand, showcasing her commitment to detail and artistic expression.
