Former US President Donald Trump won the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday, moving closer to his third straight presidential nomination and a rematch with President Joe Biden in the fall.
Trump defeated former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, his last remaining Republican challenger, in a one-on-one matchup. This victory follows Trump’s significant win in the Iowa caucuses.
Haley expressed her commitment to stay in the race, stating she would now concentrate on the February 24 primary in her home state of South Carolina.
However, she will be battling history: In modern presidential campaign history, no non-incumbent has won both the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary without subsequently winning his party’s nomination.
