Style Guide for Paris Fashion Week
Fashion Week style mirrors my everyday philosophy: simplicity and chicness. However, an important lesson has been learned: invest in waterproof attire or carry an umbrella. Born and raised in India, I gravitate towards vibrant colors and prints alongside clean lines. I love to showcase my heritage by supporting South Asian designers, frequently integrating global pieces. Acquiring local designer jewellery during travels creates remarkable, lasting souvenirs, adding a unique touch to any outfit.
Fashion Week Essentials
Last year, I dazzled in a perfectly fitted black Louis Vuitton jumpsuit adorned with gold hardware, complemented by Tod’s black and white pumps, and accessorized with gold jewellery by Misho. The next day featured a floral pantsuit by Kshitij Jalori, paired with my favorite nude Prada pumps, which are a must-have for comfort during travel. A chic Chanel crossbody bag reliably holds invitations, phones, and essentials.
This Season’s Look
With renewed energy this season, I am opting for dresses. I plan to style a stunning floral dress by Saloni with Stuart Weitzman boots and a leather jacket or trench for added edge and warmth. This look seamlessly transitions from daytime events to evening activities, including a lively night at Costes in Paris. Don’t forget your sunglasses; they are essential at PFW, regardless of the weather. By the end of the shows, I often experience fashion fatigue. Packing a simple, monotone ensemble is ideal—no need for excessive thought, yet always exuding sophistication. A swipe of red lipstick completes the look; my top choice being YSL’s Rouge pur Couture in Unapologetic, known for its rich pigment and satin feel.
