Filming Locations of Guy Rittchie’s ‘The Gentleman’
Guy Ritchie’s latest project, the eight-part Netflix series The Gentleman, introduces viewers to Eddie Horniman (Theo James), who navigates Britain’s criminal underworld after inheriting his father’s grand country estate. While the family appears to be respectable aristocracy from a distance, Eddie’s father harbored a secret worth millions—a cannabis empire managed by Bobby Glass (Ray Winstone).
While Bobby orchestrates the empire from an open prison, indulging in lavish steak dinners and caring for the resident pigeons, his daughter Susie (Kaya Scodelario) manages the daily operations across multiple country estates.
The Badminton Estate, Gloucestershire
Some scenes of The Gentleman were filmed on stage sets at Alperton Studios in Wembley, however, the exterior of Halstead Manor, the fictional home of the Horniman family, is set at The Badminton Estate.
This real-life residence of the Duke and Duchess of Beaufort is a well-known filming location and a popular wedding venue in the picturesque south Gloucestershire countryside. Viewers with a keen eye might recognize this location from Netflix favorites and movies such as Pearl Harbour and 28 Days Later.
