Zwangzer predicts the new Disneyland will be hugely popular and that plans for two on-site hotels could be insufficient to meet demand.
Shanghai Disneyland — Disney has just revealed designs of the upcoming Shanghai Disneyland, which will be the brand’s sixth in the world and third in Asia. It’s also the first Disney theme park to open in the last 10 years.
Treasure Cove is one of the six themed lands planned for Shanghai Disneyland. It’s the brand’s first pirate-themed land.
Guests will be able to take boat ride inspired by “Pirates of the Caribbean — Battle for the Sunken Treasure” and paddle through a cove featuring innovative robotics and multimedia scenes.
Another Disney “first” for Shanghai is Adventure Isle, “a mysterious land with an ancient legend about a native tribe, a giant reptilian creature and the mighty Roaring Mountain.”
Shanghai Disneyland promises to offer more collectibles and gifts than other Disney theme parks.
In addition to the six themed lands, there will be brand new attractions at Shanghai Disneyland, including two based on Star Wars and Marvel, according to Bob Iger, Disney’s chairman and CEO.
