The Forest Trail is segmented into 20km-long stages, featuring various accommodation and transport options. Hikers will traverse forest roads, country roads, and stunning sandy or rocky beaches. The trail begins at the Polish-Lithuanian border near Lazdijai, continuing through Latvia before reaching Riga and concluding in Tallinn, Estonia.
The long-distance hiking route is part of the E11 European long-distance path, and it is estimated that completing the entire trail takes between 102 and 114 days. Of the total 2141km, 747km are located in Lithuania, 674km in Latvia, and 720km in Estonia.
