Jurassic World VelociCoaster: A New Era for Thrill Seekers
Universal Orlando Resort has teased visitors with the first look at its Jurassic World VelociCoaster. This new attraction, as claimed by the company, is set to be its most thrilling and intense rollercoaster ever, drawing inspiration from the beloved film franchise Jurassic World.
Scheduled to open in summer 2021 at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, the Jurassic World VelociCoaster will be Florida’s fastest and tallest launch coaster. Recently unveiled was an image of the ride vehicle, showcasing a futuristic blue and silver pod adorned with vibrant lights and raptor scratches. Riders can expect an exhilarating experience featuring intense maneuvers that could send them twisting and catapulting at speeds up to 70 miles per hour and heights exceeding 150 feet, enhanced by an innovative storyline that builds on the films.
Moreover, the rollercoaster features the original cast from the films, including Chris Pratt as Owen Grady, Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing, and BD Wong as Dr. Henry Wu. As riders participate in a high-speed chase alongside a pack of velociraptors, they will experience over 700 feet of thrilling track. This includes rapid twists, 360-degree barrel rolls just above the water, and a series of exhilarating near-misses. Significantly, it boasts two high-speed launches, with one reaching 70 miles per hour in merely 2.4 seconds.
As a representative from Universal Orlando Resort stated, “Jurassic World VelociCoaster will be the next exciting addition to Jurassic Park at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Only in this immersive area can guests encounter life-size dinosaurs in incredible theme park experiences, such as Jurassic Park River Adventure, where a leisurely raft ride culminates in a daring eight-story plunge to escape a ferocious T. Rex; and Raptor Encounter, where visitors can test their courage by getting close to Velociraptor Blue and the latest additions to the paddock – baby raptors – while learning about these clever carnivores.”
Consequently, more details about the rollercoaster will be revealed in the coming months. For further information, visitors are encouraged to check the official Universal Orlando Resort website.
