This year, many individuals around the world have shifted their focus to outdoor activities, seeking adventure in nature to remain active, safe, and responsible while avoiding crowds. Consequently, a new study has been released, utilizing heatmap data to reveal the least busy trails in Britain, ideal for solo explorers.

Conducted by hiking trail app AllTrails in collaboration with Holidu, the study examined user-recorded hikes to identify routes that provide the best opportunities for a peaceful outing. Topping the list is the Crag Lough and Housesteads Roman Fort Loop in Hexham, Northumberland. This moderate route is perfect for hiking, walking, running, and nature trips, leading visitors past the remains of a Roman fort on Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site.
