Top 100 Hotels Worldwide: Readers’ 2025 Favorites

World’s Best Hotels Ranked by iBestTravel

Year to year, we see travelers’ habits shift, as certain destinations suddenly gain popularity (hello, Portugal and Iceland) while others experience a decline, perhaps due to geopolitical events or unfavorable exchange rates. This shift is reflected in our World’s Best results, especially concerning the ranking of the top 100 hotels globally. However, one constant remains: the properties that secure a spot on this selective list are all exceptional ambassadors for their countries, providing intuitive service and luxury experiences that can significantly enhance a vacation.

World’s Best Awards Survey

Every year for our World’s Best Awards survey, iBestTravel surveys travelers to share their insights on hotel experiences around the globe. Participants provide opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. Hotels are rated based on their facilities, location, service, food, and overall value. Properties are categorized as city or resort depending on their amenities and surroundings.

Top Hotels in Asia

This year, 27 of the top 100 hotels worldwide are located in Asia—the highest number for any region. This includes a captivating hotel with a restored Qing dynasty courtyard in Chengdu, China; two romantic getaways in the Maldives; and a magnificent resort boasting views of the Taj Mahal in Agra, India. One reader commented, “Uninterrupted views of the Taj Mahal give this hotel its own iconic status,” while another stated, “The stuff of legends.”

Hotels in the United States

Closer to home, we see familiar favorites such as Vermont’s culinary gem Twin Farms; Montana’s rustic-luxe Triple Creek Ranch; and California’s adults-only Post Ranch Inn, which has become accessible again after last year’s mudslides. Additionally, C Lazy U Ranch, a family-friendly dude ranch nestled in the Colorado Rockies, has made its debut in the top 100. A devoted fan reflected, “As someone who has traveled to 86 countries, I can confidently say C Lazy U ranks at the top of my list for accommodations and activities.”

Hotels in Europe and Mexico

Europe featured 18 winners, including the first-time awardee Six Senses Douro Valley, located in the heart of Portugal’s wine country, while Mexico proudly boasts 10. It’s no surprise that Rosewood San Miguel de Allende made the list, likely due to its fabulous location. One reader remarked, “The rooftop bar was our go-to spot for drinks; it’s a very special place.”
