Royal Caribbean Returns to Los Angeles with Exciting Cruise Vacations
Royal Caribbean is heading back to Los Angeles.
A Royal Caribbean ship is set to call Los Angeles home for the first time in a decade, beginning June 2022. The cruise company announced plans to move the “Navigator of the Seas” to LA, offering trips lasting from 3 to 5 nights to beautiful locations including Catalina Island in California, Ensenada, and Cabo San Lucas in Mexico. Additionally, the ship will feature select winter holiday week-long voyages.
“California was calling us home once again, and what better way to reintroduce Royal Caribbean than to bring our next-level cruise vacations to the City of Angels and make it a year-round adventure starting just in time for summer,” stated Michael Bayley, the president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, in a statement released Wednesday. “We’re excited to return to Los Angeles to add bigger, bolder vacation options along the West Coast. With a ship like ‘Navigator of the Seas,’ complete with waterslides, activities from day to night, and a lineup of restaurants, bars, and lounges, friends and families alike are in for a memorable getaway.”
The “Navigator of the Seas,” which underwent refurbishment in 2019, boasts a three-level poolside bar, perfect for enjoying warm California nights. The ship features two exhilarating waterslides that promise to get anyone’s heart racing: the Blaster aqua coaster (the longest waterslide at sea) and Riptide (a thrilling headfirst mat racer).
Before its arrival in LA, the ship is expected to sail from Miami or Fort Lauderdale on three- and four-night itineraries to the Bahamas, according to the company.
On land in LA, city officials have started to lift coronavirus-imposed restrictions, allowing attractions such as indoor dining and museums to reopen with capacity limits. Moreover, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park will finally reopen on April 30, bringing additional excitement to the area.
Furthermore, Los Angeles is not the only new port for Royal Caribbean. The cruise line plans to sail three to seven-night journeys from Haifa in Israel to the Greek Isles and Cyprus, exclusively for fully-vaccinated travelers, beginning in May.
