Discover the Ultimate Luxury at Maldives’ Private Island Resort with Overwater Villas and Exclusive Butler Service

Experience Luxury at Patina Maldives

Cool, creative expression meets tropical island life at Patina Maldives, a bold new luxury resort in the sparkling North Male Atoll.

Opened in May 2021, Patina stands out from typical Maldives resorts. It melds art, music, haute cuisine, and fashion into an experiential escape, attracting both honeymooning couples and retreat-seeking artists. The resort features 90 villas and 20 studios, located just a 45-minute speedboat transfer from Velana International Airport. It is the first of three private islands to open in the anticipated man-made archipelago of the Fari Islands.

Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan of Studio MK27 led the resort’s contemporary, biophilic-driven design that showcases artistic details: surprising art installations on a crescent-shaped beach, abstract-painted ceramics and drinkware hand-picked by the general manager, Marco Den Ouden, and aromatic diffuser blocks in each villa, perfuming the living spaces adorned with high-end wooden furniture and earthy fabrics.

All villas, ranging from one to three bedrooms, feature a generous private pool, outdoor bathtub, floor-to-ceiling sliding windows, and butler service. While there are beachfront accommodations and obligatory overwater villas, the beachfront option may have the upper hand due to its outdoor showers and interiors that seamlessly integrate with the natural landscape.

Music also plays a significant role at Patina Maldives; the resort collaborated with musicology experts MAV to create an eclectic soundtrack for each communal venue. Moreover, there are curated Spotify playlists available within the resort’s dedicated app, enhancing the overall auditory experience.

Patina’s ethos is to engage all senses, and their offerings certainly do not disappoint. Guests can indulge in Roots, a vegan restaurant featuring seasonal tasting menu ingredients sourced from their organic permaculture garden, as well as upscale selections from two-Michelin-star chef Nick Brill at Fari Beach Club, ensuring that dining becomes both a visual and gastronomic delight.

The spa, named Flow, serves as the resort’s design highlight, featuring elevated treatment pods and open-air relaxation lounges adorned with slatted woods, creating a striking interplay of sunlight and shadow above a central koi pond. Sustainability remains a key priority, with drinking water produced in-house, extensive solar operations (including a fully solar-powered kids’ club), zero-waste kitchens, and an ambitious marine conservation program.

In conclusion, regardless of your creative preferences, Patina Maldives aims to delight all senses with its luxurious amenities and immersive experiences.
