Explore the New Auberge Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico: Every Room with Stunning Waterfront Views

Discover the Luxurious Etéreo Resort in the Riviera Maya

Bright sun, white sand, and blue seas — sounds ideal for the holiday season, no? In December, Auberge Resorts Collection is debuting its latest luxury resort in Mexico, located in the new Kanai development in the Riviera Maya. It is the perfect place for a winter escape this year.

Accommodation Overview

Etéreo, the Spanish word for “ethereal” or heavenly, is nestled in a lush mangrove forest that borders a stunning white-sand beach. This beach area is unique, particularly because the region’s largest reef lies just 250 feet into the Caribbean Sea from the shore.

There are 75 studios and suites here, each offering a view of where the Gulf of Mexico meets the Caribbean Sea—an uncommon feature for often-crowded Riviera Maya resorts. Each unit also includes private outdoor space, allowing guests to fully appreciate the tranquil vistas. Studios are 875 square feet and feature floor-to-ceiling windows that seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor living; they also include private plunge pools and stunning carved wooden walls by artist Manuel Felguérez. Suites range from 1,375 to 3,925 square feet and come with the added benefit of butler service. Moreover, the two- and three-bedroom penthouses include outdoor hot tubs on their private terraces. All accommodations are adorned with local artisan-crafted furniture, art, and decor.

On-site culinary offerings include the Mayan-inspired restaurant Itzam, along with four specialty dining options:

  • The El Carrito cart that sells coffee, alcohol-infused paletas, agua frescas, and cocktails,
  • Alberca, a poolside venue for light bites and refreshing cocktails,
  • Che Che, specializing in Nikkei cuisine that combines elements from Japanese, Peruvian, and Brazilian traditions,
  • El Changarro, featuring in-sand dining with a menu based on the local catch of the day.

For wellness, guests can treat themselves at Sana, an Auberge Spa. Of course, with the beach and the sea right at your doorstep, snorkeling the nearby reef is a delightful afternoon activity.
