Architectural Zones of the Resort
The new Ritz-Carlton Reserve resort will immerse visitors in Costa Rican architecture and culture, divided into three distinct zones:
Classic Zone
This area features modern interpretations of traditional hacienda-style architecture, encapsulating an arrival area along with guest rooms and suites.
Transitional Zone
This zone will be flooded with light, showcasing the typical architecture found in the local Guanacaste region.
Organic Zone
Inspired by the natural environment, this zone will include tree house-style architecture across guest rooms and the beach club and spa.
The Significance of the Name
The name Nekajui (pronounced nek-ah-wee) means “garden” in Chorotegan, honoring the language of an indigenous nation that once lived in the area. The resort will be nestled above and within a lush hillside, offering guests a serene environment surrounded by a natural garden.
Privacy and Tranquility
Located on a quieter beach celebrated for its bioluminescence, visitors can expect some of the calmest and most protected waters, providing tranquility day and night.
Exceptional Service Standards
Nekajui will align itself with the exclusive Ritz-Carlton Reserve portfolio, known for its outstanding service. According to Simon Cooper, former president of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, the resort will offer highly personalized service due to its smaller number of rooms compared to staff.
Unique Experience Offerings
Guests will receive assistance from certified local experts to create personalized itineraries filled with adventures and cultural explorations. Opportunities for eco-adventure seekers include immersive experiences through Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment program, providing rare access to protected wildlands.
Luxurious Residences
Near the hotel, 36 ultra-luxury villas and estate homes priced between $3 million and $13 million are available for priority reservation. Donald McGregor from Gencom describes these residences as designed for collectors of extraordinary homes worldwide, blending exquisite design with Tico traditions.
