Although a lot has changed in recent years, one thing remains constant: our love for adventure.

Whether you’re planning major bucket list journeys or quick getaways, we’re here to celebrate them all. As vaccines are distributed and borders reopen, this is an exciting time to embrace travel again, regardless of your next destination.

To honor this return to exploration, we present new episodes of our podcast, Let’s Go Together, highlighting how travel transforms our perceptions of ourselves and the world around us.

In the inaugural season, our adventurous host, Kellee Edwards, introduced listeners to a variety of globe-trotters, demonstrating that travelers come in all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds. From the first Black woman to visit every country on Earth to a man who climbed Machu Picchu in a wheelchair, we connected with inspiring individuals. Now, in our second season, we continue to introduce new voices, destinations, and viewpoints.

On this episode of Let’s Go Together, Edwards chats with actor Emily Hampshire about small town travel, including her experiences as a cast member on the beloved television series Schitt’s Creek.

“It’s infinitely bingeable and it’s so good-hearted,” Hampshire remarked about her widely loved show and its success during the pandemic. “If you’re stuck at home with your family or alone, the Rose family is your perfect chosen family. Alternatively, if you’re looking to escape family dynamics, you can be with the Rose family instead. So I think that helped a lot.”

While the show begins with a playful critique of small-town life, it gradually evolves into a heartfelt tribute to the many joys found in these communities. As Hampshire observes, “Many residents of Goodwood, where we filmed, would call themselves Schittheads. They rallied around us, and that was one of the nicest experiences. That’s what’s so rewarding about working in a small town… everyone comes out for it, and you truly get to know the locals. In a city, that personal connection can often be lost.”

When asked why she has such fondness for small towns, Hampshire added, “It’s the sense of community; you feel seen by everyone. You know everyone, it’s familiar, and it feels safe.”
