Christine Duffy, the president of Carnival Cruise Line, expressed her excitement: “Carnival was the first cruise line to offer year-round cruising from Galveston in 2000, and we have continued to grow our presence and support of the Port of Galveston’s expansion. Therefore, we are thrilled to bring our brand-new Carnival Jubilee to Texas and the greater southwest region. This beautiful, innovative ship will provide an entirely new cruise experience for our guests, and we’ve planned some great surprises to enhance their journey.”
4. Onboard Features and Capacity
When the Carnival Jubilee sets sail, it will boast the ability to accommodate over 5,400 guests. Moreover, the ship will feature the exhilarating BOLT roller coaster located on the top deck. Guests can also look forward to new designs in suites and staterooms, as well as a stunning three-deck atrium that overlooks the ocean and transforms into an entertainment venue at night.
5. Upcoming Sailings from Miami
In addition to the launch of the Carnival Jubilee, Carnival Cruise Line plans to set the Carnival Celebration sailing from Miami, commencing late 2022.
6. Recent Developments Amidst the Pandemic
After pausing operations due to the pandemic, Carnival first set sail from Florida and Texas in July 2021 with fully vaccinated passengers. Consequently, by August of the same year, the cruise line began requiring guests who were unvaccinated but received a medical exemption to provide a doctor’s note before boarding.
