Fact checked by Elizabeth MacLennan

For most people, sailing the world is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. However, for a few fortunate travelers, an endless journey circumnavigating the globe could become a daily reality.

Introduction

When Storylines’ first residential cruise ship launches in 2024, it will feature 547 fully furnished residences available for purchase. These homes allow globe trotters to live, work, and play while exploring the world. Most residences, ranging from one to four bedrooms and spanning from 237 to 1,970 square feet, include balconies and offer customization in either a coastal or contemporary style. While the onboard residences are priced between $1 million to $8 million, there are also options available for as little as $600,000 on a 24-year lease basis.

For culinary enthusiasts, the ship features 20 dining options and bars, ensuring every food preference is met. It also houses its own microbrewery and a solar-paneled, soil-less garden providing fresh ingredients and craft beer for its eateries. A zero-waste farmers market offers local products, promoting sustainability. Other amenities include a library, a marina with watercraft access, a movie theater, an art studio, and a bowling alley. The Narrative emphasizes eco-friendliness, running primarily on liquid gas, a more sustainable option compared to conventional fuels.

Community Experience

According to Storylines co-founder Shannon Lee, “Many people love global travel experiences but they don’t love the logistics, planning, air travel, jet lag, and living out of a suitcase. Storylines takes the hassle out of international travel so that people can focus on exploring, adventures, and cultural experiences.” After exploring new exotic locations, residents return to the comforts of home, sharing experiences with friends in a familiar environment.

This unique cruise community prioritizes cultural immersion. The ship’s three-year voyage, starting in 2024, includes visits to all six continents with several days designated for exploring each destination.

Additonally, Lee mentions, “Storylines attracts people who actively get involved in local communities and enjoy world cultures. We like to say ‘exotic destinations become your afternoon strolls’ because the overall experience is truly about exploring the world while still enjoying all the comforts of home.”

Exploring the world from this immersive home at sea offers a distinct lifestyle that resonates with international travel lovers.
