Il Rifugio, which translates to “the shelter” in Italian, is situated at the Arapahoe Basin Ski Area in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. First launched in 2019, this European-style bistro is set to reopen in January 2023, following extensive renovations.

3. Accessing Il Rifugio

Accessing Il Rifugio during the winter season requires skiing or snowboarding. Guests must take two chairlifts from the base area and ski down to the restaurant, nestled inside the Snow Plume Refuge. The journey is suitable for intermediate skiers and provides an exclusive dining experience at the mountain’s peak.

4. Dining Experience

Il Rifugio offers a relaxed, après ski atmosphere where diners can enjoy European-inspired dishes. The menu includes:

Il Rifugio accommodates up to 50 guests at a time and does not accept reservations. This allows for a spontaneous dining experience amidst the stunning alpine setting.
