1. Introduction

Italy’s Amalfi Coast is already famed for its magnificent natural attractions, including a gorgeous rugged coastline and crystal-clear beaches. If you’re in search of such a beach where you’ll find incredible scenery, head to the town of Furore, located in the Campania region of Italy, where a gigantic fjord opens up to create its very own hidden beach.

2. Discovering Furore

The narrow bay of the fjord invites those who descend down the long staircase leading to the bottom to enjoy the inlet. Furthermore, a bridge spanning the length of the fjord allows for breathtaking views over the area. Carved by the cascading waters of the Schiato River over centuries, this fjord creates a natural amphitheater that has hosted the Marmeeting High Diving World Championship. Moreover, it’s a favorite spot for locals during the summer months.

3. Local Experiences

Once you’ve had a chance to take a dip in its clear waters, you’ll find a series of trails that you can hike to reach nearby bars and restaurants. Additionally, the small town of Furore itself is adorned with white homes nestled between vines and olives, set up today as an open-air museum. Consequently, you can explore the wide array of artwork that lines the walls of homes and the dry stone walls of terraces.

If you want to explore more of what the area has to offer, several tour operators provide itineraries through Furore’s fjord, as well as other natural rock formations, grand arches, and hidden caves that can be found throughout the Amalfi Coast.
