Yoga Experience in St. Lucia

On a wooden deck suspended over the Caribbean Ocean, I move from downward dog to a warrior pose. It’s only 8 a.m., but the tropical air in St. Lucia has already surpassed 80 degrees Fahrenheit, wrapping around me like a heated blanket. As the sun creeps higher in the sky, the humidity increases, yet I continue to transition smoothly between poses. This level of comfort can largely be attributed to the incredibly comfortable Janji Pace Shorts I am wearing.

Features of Janji Pace Shorts

These bike shorts have proven to be a reliable workout buddy and travel companion for many of my adventures. Originally designed for running, I first tried the Janji Pace Shorts while training for a half marathon in Brooklyn, NY. Less than one mile into my first run, I was impressed by how securely these shorts fit; they didn’t ride up or slip down. The fabric offers the right amount of compression without being overly restrictive—a rarity among spandex shorts wearers.

Moreover, the shorts feature a strip of silicone at the hem to ensure they stay in place, even during high-intensity movements. Consequently, I experienced no chafing, which is another important benefit of their secure fit and 7-inch inseam length.

Adaptability to Different Climates

My appreciation for these shorts grew during my two-year stay in Joshua Tree. The desert climate, where temperatures can shift rapidly, put these shorts to the test. They are thick enough to handle cooler temperatures yet remain breathable and moisture-wicking during California’s hot triple-digit days. Their durability is essential for navigating rocky terrains in the National Park.

Active Vacations with Janji Pace Shorts

I consistently take these shorts on every active vacation, whether exploring Hawaii or hiking in Zion. I currently own two pairs and am considering adding more to my workout wardrobe—especially since select styles are currently discounted at REI.

While primarily used for fitness, these shorts also serve as excellent travel wear; they can be paired with a sweatshirt for a long flight or styled with a tank top and sneakers for sightseeing. Additionally, you can easily dress them up with a blazer when necessary.
