Summary
Introduction to the World of Frozen
The first of its kind, the ‘World of Frozen’ is expected to open at Hong Kong Disneyland later this year. For the first time in forever, Disney Parks is sharing all-new details regarding this themed land inspired by the beloved film, anticipated to open this November.
Summer Snow Day Celebration
“Guests will be invited to a Summer Snow Day celebration commemorating the day that Anna saved Elsa with an act of true love,” Disney shared with iBestTravel. This immersive themed land is a recreation of the kingdom of Arendelle and will feature beloved characters, stories, and landmarks from the movies, thus drawing upon the park’s natural landscape.
Exciting Attractions
The land draws inspiration from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen and Frozen 2.
Guests will embark on a journey to the North Mountain where Elsa’s Ice Palace awaits as part of the Summer Snow Day celebration aboard Frozen Ever After, a boat attraction similar to the existing EPCOT dark ride. Unlike its Walt Disney World counterpart, Hong Kong’s version will utilize upgraded technology featuring physical faces for its animatronic character figures. Throughout the ride, guests will encounter beloved characters from the films, such as Olaf and Sven.
The land will also feature Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, recognized as the first Frozen-themed coaster in the world. According to Disney, “Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs was built by none other than Wandering Oaken himself, who enlisted the help of Olaf and Sven to power the attraction as they work together to pull the sleds to the top of the lift hill.” The family-friendly attraction’s queue will take guests inside Oaken’s sauna.
Dining and Shopping Experiences
In addition, Disney shared concept art for Golden Crocus Inn, one of the land’s dining locations, named after Arendelle’s national symbol. This quick-service restaurant, themed after a fictional popular spot in the kingdom, will offer a menu featuring diverse cuisines.
Additionally, Tick Tock Toys & Collectibles will be a charming toy shop, designed to be the go-to place for toys, keepsakes, and collectibles that include playful carved depictions of favorite Frozen friends.
Conclusion
When the World of Frozen opens at Hong Kong Disneyland later this year, it will mark the park’s largest expansion to date, providing an array of attractions and experiences that Disney fans will not want to miss.
