Tremec Manual Transmission

While the GT and EcoBoost variants of the Mustang feature a Getrag MT82 six-speed manual, the Mach 1 boasts a superior Tremec TR-3160 six-speed gearbox from the GT350. This transmission provides a smoother shifting experience, further enhanced by the short-throw shifter from the GT350. Additionally, a standard auto rev-matching feature minimizes the clutch work for drivers, resulting in a more engaging experience.

Transmission Cooler

Along with the Tremec manual, the Mach 1 is equipped with its auxiliary transmission cooler. Furthermore, it benefits from an additional air-to-oil transmission cooler that Ford states improves cooling efficiency by a remarkable 75 percent.

GT500 Suspension Components

The Mach 1 features specially tuned MagneRide shocks, along with firmer anti-roll bars and front springs, alongside a stiffer rear subframe design. Importantly, it incorporates rear toe links sourced from the Shelby GT500, further enhancing its performance capabilities.

Rear Diffuser and Rear Axle Cooler

When examining the Mustang Shelby GT500, one can’t help but admire its aerodynamic features. The Mach 1 benefits from the GT500’s rear diffuser design, complete with characteristic triangular vents. Swing Rear Spoiler

With the Mach 1 Handling package, drivers receive the unique “S’wing” rear spoiler, an innovative design inspired by the GT350’s aerodynamic features. This spoiler, alongside other aerodynamic enhancements, is designed to increase downforce by 22 percent compared to a standard GT with the Performance Package 1.

Pilot Sport Cup Tires

Included in the Handling package is a robust wheel and tire setup directly derived from the GT350. The wheels measure 20 x 10.5 inches at the front and 20 x 11 inches at the rear, wrapped in ultra-sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup rubber. It should be noted that these tires were specifically developed for Ford Performance, ensuring exceptional grip on the track.

Tire Spats

To accommodate the wider tires associated with the Handling package, the Mach 1 features specially designed wheel lip moldings. Additionally, it includes rear tire spats from the GT500, further improving aerodynamics by effectively routing air around the larger tires and reducing drag.
