Experience Luxury at The St. Regis Chicago: The Tallest Skyscraper Designed by a Woman Featuring a Heated Indoor Pool with Lake Michigan Views

The St. Regis Chicago recently opened as the brand’s first outpost in the Midwest, just blocks away from Millennium Park and other Windy City landmarks.

The St. Regis is now a permanent fixture of Chicago’s famous skyline. The luxury hotel opened its doors on May 18, situated in one of the country’s most architecturally striking new buildings. The former Vista Tower, rebranded as The St. Regis Chicago, stands tall at 101 stories and is the tallest building in the world designed by a female architect. This impressive structure was designed by Jeanne Gang and her team at Studio Gang.

“The architecture of The St. Regis Chicago is truly unmatched. The award-winning building is now the third tallest building in Chicago’s skyline,” stated George Fleck, global brand leader for St. Regis Hotels & Resorts. “In a city so known for design and its celebration of different architectural styles, we felt the best address in Chicago was one that reflects this facet of the city.”

The new hotel, marking The St. Regis’ debut in the Midwest, is positioned in the Lakeshore East neighborhood and features 192 rooms and suites spread across 11 floors. Notably, KTGY Simeone Deary Design Group and Gensler design firm incorporated geometric lines and metallic hues into the modern interiors. Accommodations showcase floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning downtown views, complete with Frette linens, soaking bathtubs, and rain showers.

Guests will also enjoy classic St. Regis amenities, including butler service, afternoon tea, and a local twist on the brand’s signature cocktail, the Bloody Mary, served with local rye whisky in a smoking glass rimmed with smoked salt.

Furthermore, the hotel boasts a wellness floor featuring a gym with river views, a 12,000-square-foot spa, a lounge, a bar, an outdoor sun deck, a yoga studio, and a heated indoor swimming pool overlooking Lake Michigan.

Noteworthy dining experiences include Miru, the hotel’s all-day eatery on the 11th floor serving modern Japanese cuisine in an elegantly designed setting. The restaurant features two terraces that offer views of Navy Pier, Lake Michigan, and the Chicago River, where guests can enjoy shareable plates such as hamachi with white ponzu and crispy whole snapper with herb salad and ginger miso.

Moreover, Tre Dita, a Tuscan steakhouse by chef Evan Funke, is set to open this fall, specializing in homemade pasta.

“The tower represents not only our latest addition to our portfolio of glamorous hotels and resorts around the world but also sets the tone for a bolder vision of our brand in the U.S.,” Fleck noted.

The new building also includes 393 St. Regis branded residences, granting owners access to the hotel’s facilities and a distinct residential amenity floor.

Nightly rates at The St. Regis Chicago start from $700.
