Get Ready for Ski Season: Epic Pass Overview
Ski season is just around the corner, making it the ideal time for savings, as prices for a major mountain pass are set to increase after Labor Day.
Overview of the Epic Pass
The Epic Pass, owned by Vail Resorts, is currently available for $929. However, prices are set to rise on September 4, according to the latest announcement. Initially, the pass was introduced in March with a starting price of $909.
The Epic Pass grants unlimited and unrestricted access to more than 40 different mountain resorts and limited access to over 80 resorts worldwide.
Current Pricing and Discounts
Vail Resorts emphasizes that “Epic Pass products offer the best deal in skiing and riding, providing unmatched value and access to the world’s top destination resorts and local ski areas,” such as Vail Mountain, Whistler Blackcomb, Park City Mountain, Breckenridge, Keystone, Stowe, and Andermatt-Sedrun in Switzerland.
In addition, the company offers more limited options like the Epic Local Pass starting at $689 and the Epic Day Pass, priced at just $41 per day.
Mobile Passes
This season, skiers and snowboarders can conveniently store their passes on their smartphones, allowing for hands-free scanning through Bluetooth technology. These innovative mobile passes can replace traditional plastic cards or RFID chips, although those options will still be available this season.
Additional Offers for Travelers
Moreover, those who purchase an Epic Pass currently can take advantage of Vail’s Winter Getaway Sale, offering an additional 20 percent off hotel rates. This sale is available from now until September 5 for pass holders and runs from August 29 through September 5 for non-pass holders.
This sale complements the 20 percent discount pass holders typically receive on lodging, group lessons for skiing and snowboarding, gear rentals, and on-mountain dining.
Notably, the cost of the Epic Pass is significantly lower than in 2020, when it was priced starting at $979.
